i need a hero

She hates selfies and having her picture taken. Has more pictures of clouds than is strictly necessary. And despite having been educated, she can’t spell.

She is known to break out in spontaneous song and dance (very badly but enthusiastically). And snores (also very badly and enthusiastically). Is a mess of contradictions but the right person will find that glorious. Really.

She loves to laugh. Even at unexpectedly inappropriate times. The kind of snort-out-loud, spit-out-your-drink type of belly laugh. Finds joy in ridiculously mundane things; and believes those who do not interrogate themselves and their claims are red flags.

She cries at sad movies, happy movies, sad songs, nostalgic songs, injustice, puppies, babies, sunsets, daybreaks, storms … Ok, she is often moved by the essence of humanity. She values people who make time. Can’t relate to those who make excuses, self-justify, are cruel, bullies, pretenders, users and hypocrites.

She is passionate about being passionate. Doesn’t believe in perfect, but in the imperfectly perfect.

She reads. Like, books. And poetry. Lots of them. In paper form. No electronic nonsense. She’s old fashion like that.

She loves with abandon, with a love as deep as the oceans. She’s not a giver-upper, no sir-ree. She is who you want by your side to battle monsters and defy the odds. She will definitely be too much for the cowards. The ones who don’t and refuse to understand; the incurious; the critics who sit on the sidelines and judge. She’s looking for the man in the arena; a man of courage - big of heart, wise of soul, joyous of spirit, true of purpose. A man who values something real; to ride off into the sunset with.

Is he you?
